1. Material and Shell Integrity: No Room for Flaws

You cannot build a reliable valve with sub-par metal. At TGV, our QA team starts at the foundry level.

  • The Test: Every casting undergoes non-destructive testing (NDT) to check for internal porosity, sand holes, or shrinkage.
  • The Standard: Materials must align perfectly with ASTM or EN equivalents (like ASTM A536 for ductile iron). We back this up with Material Test Reports (MTRs) for full heat-number traceability.

2. Physical Dimensions: Ensuring a Perfect Fit

A butterfly valve that doesn't align correctly with your flanges is useless. We measure everything—face-to-face dimensions, flange drilling, and shaft diameters—using calibrated digital calipers.

  • The Blueprint: Dimensional consistency must strictly follow API 609 and ISO 5752. This guarantees that when you install a TGV valve on-site, it fits into your existing piping layout without forcing the lines.

3. Pressure & Seal Testing: The Real Trial

If a valve can’t hold back pressure, nothing else matters. We put our industrial valves through rigorous hydrostatic and pneumatic testing based on international benchmarks like API 598 and ISO 5208.

  • Shell Pressure Test: We pressurize the valve body to 1.5 × its rated pressure. The body, stem seals, and joints must show zero leakage or structural distortion.
  • Seat Leakage Test: Under 1.1 × the working pressure, the disc must create a bubble-tight seal against the seat. For resilient-seated valves, the acceptable leakage rate is strict "Rate A" (zero visible leakage).
